Courage

Sure, Channel V has changed a lot from what it used to be like in the late-nineties and early-noughties. There's very little left of the edgy counter-cultural music channel staffed primarily by people from places like NSD and FTII that V once was. The channel that sought to present a darker, more grunge, yet recognisably Indian alternative to unabashedly-consumerist, bubblegum-bright MTV.

Either way, that's not what this share is directly about. This short, two-minute-long promo I stumbled across the other day is just about the bravest, most 'real', non-pretentious, unaffected, and overall awesome spot I've seen on TV for years. With all due respect, the club-hopping, EDM loving, Dad's-fat-wallet fuelled E & coke & every-other-possible-upper popping sheesha-smoking crowd can go fuck themselves.

The show below is what life for the average urban-Indian teenager-at-the-cusp-of-adulthood is really like. This is what constitutes real coolth. Just the courage these kids demonstrate by thinking nothing of taking this unflinching a look at themselves on national television... if most youngsters in India today are as brave as this, our country's future is in good hands.

You go, guys. You deserve all the positive attention you get.
