Ronis, Willy. Les Amoureux de la Bastille. Paris, 1957.
I first discovered this photograph sometime in 2005. The image by itself is memorable enough for the aesthetics of its framing; but there is a reason why this has always had a further resonance for me. Only one other person in the whole wide world knows why this is so.
